The Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has rubbished media report that the ministry of education will start licensing teachers very soon. The minister said, he has not on any platform said anything about teacher licensing.

“Since I became a minister, I have not on any public platform talked, spoken, asked anything about teacher licensing.” The minister was speaking at the 12th National Delegates Conference of National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) in Kumasi.

Though the National Teaching Council has started engaging stakeholders on the issues of licensing and appraisal system, the minister denied the implementation of the system and rather launched a scathing attack on the media in Ghana describing them as “Fake news producers”
